Why is writing so important for young adults?
Writing provides a creative outlet for expressing our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Going through the process of getting our thoughts into words can help us sort through experiences and aid problem solving.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were a tween or teen?
Your writing does not have to be perfect. Just let the words flow without internal criticism. You can revise later, if necessary.
How has the ability to express yourself helped you in life?
Having the ability to express myself through words is important for meaningful communication. Being able to communicate has helped all aspects of my life. As a mother I've experienced the power of my words influencing my children and as a writer, the words I put into paper are used to teach, to help readers gain new insight and understanding.
